This promising practice reviews the rationalization process and a coordination and planning workshop conducted by OHTA and Ministry of Health representatives for partners working on HIV prevention and PMTCT within certain health zones in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This compendium of case studies showcases innovative approaches to integrated HIV-SRH service delivery for improving MNCH outcomes, and strengthening health and community systems. It is hoped that the 11 case studies included in this publication will help to inform future programming by providing examples of promising practices related to integration in sub-Saharan Africa in order to extrapolate the common elements of, and barriers to, effective integrated service delivery.
Caring for people living with HIV during the ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. The outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) that hit Sierra Leone in May 2014 ravaged communities, severely disrupting general health services and reducing access to those services. The epidemic rapidly spread to all districts in the country, with varying levels of intensity.
This report documents models, case studies and lessons learned to highlight practical ways in which child protection systems and services link to HIV services in order to benefit HIV and child protection outcomes for children. The goal of the report is for policymakers and programmers to consider and implement interventions that link across sectors.
