Since 2009, UNICEF Nepal, FHI 360 and other partners have supported the Ministry of Health and Population to provide and expand community-based Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (CB-PMTCT) services. With increased access to PMTCT services, more children are born HIV-free.

Talking about HIV can be the beginning of an AIDS-free generation in Lesotho where one in four people are living with HIV. Many people do not know their status, but early testing and treatment can be the difference between life and death.

The governments of Sweden, Norway and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are working together to encourage men to be involved in the health of their partners and children as a way to prevent the transmission of HIV from mother to child.
